IT’S WINTER!!  Play hard, eat well! January tips to great eating!

TIP #1:  EAT EAST ASIAN!

Formerly Orient Express, our annual Asian food highlight spans many different styles of cooking:  Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Korean…after all Asia is pretty big (no duh).  But what’s most important is that we have fun!  Our Kitchen: creative daily specials, amazing sandwich specials and watch out for our sushi rolls!! Our Grocery Department: tons of Asian specialty products and terrific recipes.  Our Produce Department:  cool Asian focused stuff like galangal, makrut lime leaves,  yuzu lemons and dragon fruit. 

TIP #2: EAT CITRUS!

Ok, so we’re not in California.  While our dear friends at Bi Rite work with tons of local farmers this time of year, we have to rely on our direct wholesale relationships to get great citrus for this once a year citrus blowout.  But we push hard and get great results and sweet, delicious citrus from all over Florida and California arrives daily for the peak of season.  Check out Jake’s specials in Produce all month! 

 

TIP #3:  EAT WINGS, RIBS AND FOOTBALL FOOD!

Let’s not kid ourselves.  Wings and ribs are not the healthiest of foods.  But gosh are they good.  And we offer both fresh local meats in our cases plus our kitchen makes a ton of buffalo, teriyaki and dry rubbed wings to go.  Check out Farmers Catering–we have a ton of great football food just a phone call away.  The Super Bowl (February 4th) is our kitchen’s busiest day of the winter! We’ll be standing by to take your orders every weekend during the January playoffs!  PS…we also make a ton of our own salsa, guac, our famous pimento cheese, muffaletta and dips.
